Are Early Childhood Music Classes?
Music classes allow children to learn and develop at their own pace. Children can learn by experiencing many facets of music including signing, movement, listening and instrument playing. Music is used to encourage early learning and creativity in children from birth to 4 years of age. Music is the means, not the goal. The goal is more alive, creative and able children. What happens at music class can change your child's life forever. It allows children to explore the world in a secure, stimulating environment, filling them with a sense of curiosity and delight of self-expression and learning at their own pace.
Music classes offer a rich assortment of musical activities designed to promote language development, symbolic thinking, coordination and social interactions while cultivating a child's imagination at the age and stage of development when much of a child's fundamental learning takes place.
What Happens at Music Class?
Singing fosters the development of your child's most important instrument, the voice, through vocal exploration, songs and chants.
Moving develops body awareness, coordination and spatial relationships, through synchronized movement, creative movement, and simple dances.
Playing Instruments introduces a variety of musical timbres with percussive instruments such as rhythm sticks, jingle bells, resonator bars and more.
Creating stimulates your child's imagination and encourages self expression with sound and movement.
Patterning boosts your child's ability to think musically through the integration of basic rhythmic and tonal language.
Listening cultivates your child's heightened attentiveness to sound discrimination.
Exploring timbre, dynamics, tempo and pitch lays the foundation for conceptualization of elements of music.
Why Enroll A Child In Music Class?
Music class emphasizes early childhood development using music as the vehicle. Research has shown that musical activities provide children with important experiences that can help them develop physical coordination, timing, memory, visual, aural and language skills.
At music class, music becomes a natural part of your child's life. The focus of each class is on process, not performance. A child who attends music classes experiences success with music each week and experiences the joy of making music with others.
The ability to experience the joy of music is one of the greatest gifts a parent can give a child. It is a gift of sheer pleasure that will last a lifetime, whether the child goes on to play an instrument, sing, compose or simply enjoy listening to music. Just a few minutes a week can give your child a lifetime of learning.
